Backstory
This song was inspired by a YouTube video I saw from the German music group Faun. The song was in German, but its energy and atmosphere looked like so much fun that I wanted to know more. When I researched Walpurgisnacht, I learned that it is a spring festival traditionally associated with witches, bonfires, and pagan celebration.
That gave me the idea for a joyful song about witches gathering on a mountain for Walpurgisnacht. I imagined them dancing, celebrating, using a little magic, and welcoming the new season together. I wanted the song to feel uplifting rather than dark—a celebration of movement, freedom, renewal, and coming away from the night ready for the year ahead.
I think it turned into an incredibly fun dance song. My hope is that it gives listeners the feeling of being part of that mountain celebration.
